Feeling Grateful

I spent yesterday helping out with my littlest grandbaby while my oldest granddaughter (just three years old) had another angiogram at Boston Children's Hospital. I hold him and walk the halls with him and push him around in his stroller, so Felicity can devote herself to Nora.

It was a long day (15 hours all-in-all), and to break up the monotony of waiting and waiting, I took the little guy outside for a brisk stroll down the street for some fresh air. Here we happened across the Harvard School of Medicine. As I stood there and looked at its impressive facade, I was overwhelmed with gratitude to the Lord for the wonderful, life-saving skills students learn there, and at other fine institutions.

And the word on Nora is mostly positive. She has one larger AVF (arteriovenous fistula...a malformation of blood vessels in her brain), which the doctor feels confident he can fix with glue. Isn't it amazing that we live in a world where something in your brain can be fixed with glue?!?!  And then she has a smaller cluster of them. Those would be extremely risky to attempt to fix. But the doctor seems to think they are improving on their own, in comparison to her angiogram of two months ago. He's going to study them, confer with colleagues, and come up with a plan in the next few weeks. Please continue to pray for our little sweetie!
