Old-Fashioned Buttermilk Biscuit Recipe
I'm all about simplicity this spring. If it's simple...it's good. So, I've been making lots of buttermilk biscuits, because there's really no bread that's simpler. They take very little time to make. I simply mix all the ingredients together in the food processor, but you could use a bowl, forks, and spoon to make it happen too. They are light and flakey and so comforting. And I love how versatile a buttermilk biscuit is. I serve them for breakfast with butter and honey or jam. I serve them with my cup of tea in the afternoon. Small ones are an unexpected accompaniment to a salad for lunch. And I served them alongside ham and vegetables for Easter dinner.
The recipe is very versatile. Make it as is, or add a sprinkling of shredded cheese or a few snipped chives to make it savory. Serve the biscuits with: eggs, quiche, salads, chili, soups, and so much more!
