Easy Mulled Wine Recipe
Making mulled wine is super simple! It requires just a few ingredients and no special skills. But you’ll be rewarded with a warming and tantalizing winter drink that will chase away the chill of winter. Mulled wine is a great après-ski drink after a good day on the slopes, or even if you just want to enjoy the warm companionship of friends without the ski experience. Best when enjoyed with chairs pulled up by the fire and everyone with a cup in their hand.
MULLED WINE RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
one bottle of red wine
one orange
cinnamon sticks (2-3 2” sticks for the wine, plus more for each cup)
1 -2 teaspoons of whole cloves
1-2 teaspoons of whole allspice
MULLED WINE RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS:
Pour the bottle of wine into a medium-sized saucepan.
Slice orange and add to the wine. Add spices.
Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes. Remove orange slices and strain through a fine sieve to remove spices.
Ladle into Modern Irish Coffee Mugs and serve with additional pieces of orange and a cinnamon stick, if desired.
